Our first 2015 kid has hit the ground! Pictured on the left is Summer Young Winter Soldier, a stunning little single buckling out of Highlandcroft Ned Cupcake, sired by Ran-Cher Acres Alchemy’s Peter. At birth this big guy weighed in at 8 pounds and 3 ounces. His nickname is “Bucky”. Continue reading

Our First Preg Checks

Part of the wait is finally over! Late yesterday afternoon our local veterinarian visited with an ultrasound machine, and we had every doe checked for kids. We have never had preg checks done on our farm before, so this was an excellent learning experience.

All 2015 Breedings Complete!

This year we will not be selling any doelings, as we are still building up our herd numbers. We will, however, be selling any bucklings that are born. Cupcakes For Everyone!

On September 18, 2014, we welcomed a new doe to the Summer Young herd. Instead of another buck, we purchased Highlandcroft Ned Cupcake. All of us know her as Cupcake, and she’s a purebred registered 4 year old Toggenburg doe that has freshened three times. Her first offspring was actually Tip Top Cocoa Cream, or “Clover”, another one of our junior does that we got in 2013. Continue reading

With all of the same Triple RT Farms goats from the week before, plus one, and a few Toggenburgs, we set out to our 3rd GANS Summer Classic in Bible Hill, NS. After six days straight of running back and forth to Musquodoboit for the Halifax County Exhibition, a single day show was something to look forward to. Continue reading
